New Postdocs
Two new postdocs have joined our effort. Sergey Chernov comes from Mainz with extensive experience in ARPES and time-of-flight momentum microscopy. Alice Kunin comes from Berkeley with experience in ultrafast optics and time-resolved photoelelectron spectroscopy. Both have hit the ground … Continue reading
Widely tunable cavity-enhanced frequency combs
One of the Allison lab core competencies has been resonantly enhancing frequency combs in high-finesse optical cavities. In a paper posted to the arXiv here, we have extended this technology to a widely tunable platform for the first time. This … Continue reading
High-power mid-IR comb
We posted a new paper about our high-power mid-IR comb development.
Neomi Completes Summer Program at MPQ
Neomi Lewis completed a summer research program at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching, Germany. Now she’s back in the Allison lab.
Ryan Hou completes summer research in Allison Lab
Ryan Hou, an undergraduate from Columbia University, completed summer research in the Allison group, working on Cavity-Enhanced Ultrafast Spectroscopy
Peng Zhao completes Ph. D.
Peng Zhao successfully defended his dissertation, and hands the ARPES torch to Jin Bakalis (left).
Yuning Presents for APS Thesis Prize
Our first Ph. D. graduate, Yuning Chen, was selected as a finalist for the APS Justin Jankunas prize in Chemical Physics. Yuning presented her work beautifully in an invited prize session talk at the 2019 APS March Meeting. Congratulations to … Continue reading
Tunable visible frequency combs
Paper on tunable visible comb generation posted to the arXiv now here. Many details about our tunable visible comb frequency comb setup covering > 9000 cm¯¹ of tuning range.
Grzegorz Kowzan comes from Toruń
Grzegorz Kowzan has come to work with us from Toruń, Poland on a fellowship. He will work with us for 6 months on cavity-enhanced ultrafast spectroscopy. Welcome Grzegorz!
Anthony Catanese and Jay Rutledge join group
New graduate students Jay Rutledge and Anthony Catanese have joined the group. They have both been doing some research in the lab this past summer. They both did their undergraduate work at Stony Brook.
